Our partnership with Mouth Sounds is a special and exciting one. Mouth Sounds is the new brain child of Daniel Howie, former front-man of Charlotte, NC’s revered alternative rock band Sugar Glyder.
While Mouth Sounds instrumentation finds its foothold in electronic elements, Howie’s cutting vocals soar free and clear from vocal processing typical of the genre. Fans of Sugar Glyder can breathe easy knowing that the familiar tone carries consistently across the 7 song EP.
"In The Night", the first single from Mouth Sounds, transitions effortlessly into indie-pop territory on the project's debut release Sing or Swim, avaIlable February 28th.
Where other rock-to-pop transitions feel like complacent appeals to relevancy, Howie is still digging, exploring, and ultimately, still having fun. This is pop music for people who don't like pop music.
